To Whom It Concerns:
Dear Sir or Madam:
I am writing to apply for the position of Paralegal/Legal Assistant. I am currently a 2nd grade teacher in Gilchrist County and have held a teaching certificate for the past 15 years. I have an extensive background and training as a Paralegal with lots of various facets and online instruction.
As you can see from my resume, in addition to having experience in the areas of education, I have a vast history working with and serving on the technology committee in my district for several years. I have had the pleasure of being on a board of ten members countywide and have attended many technology conferences in Orlando. Prior to becoming a full time educator, I received a certificate from Southeastern Paralegal Institution in Nashville, Tennessee. This was a very in depth nine month course study. After obtaining this certification I have been employed by the following law firms:
• Dale Quillen Law Office, White Bridge Road, Tennessee. I was the paralegal for the managing partner. Family law, estate, bankruptcy, and establishing LLC’s.
• John Day Law Offices, 2nd Avenue, Nashville, Tennessee. I worked with the associate attorney that represented CSX railroad accidental death lawsuits.
• PaineWebber Brokerage, Compliance issues
• Dell Graham / Carl Schwait , Gainesville, Florida. Medical Malpractice, summarizing depositions and medical records, interviewing clients, and trial preparation.
• Siegel, Hughes & Ross, Gainesville, Florida. Paralegal for Mr. Brent Siegel assisted in the areas of personal injury/wrongful death, products liability and property litigation.
Finally, I feel confident that with those experiences listed above and my computer proficiency with the following programs: Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Smartboard, and Outlook, I would be the perfect candidate for this position
.
Thank you for your consideration. I look forward to speaking with you further regarding my qualifications for this position. Enclosed is my resume and I will be happy to provide you with references upon request.
Sincerely yours,
Lana Cherie Hastings
