About Marquis

I’m an educator. Previously taught kindergarten, 3rd grade, 4th grade, and I currently serve as the elementary school principal.

My experience in teaching all subjects in early childhood education has equipped me with the knowledge and tools to help every child achieve short term and long term goals.

Although my experiences have been primarily in Elementary, the methods I've used with students as a teacher, have also been used in training of educational professionals.

1. Individual student analysis allows me to pinpoint the learning gap.

2. Planning appropriate lessons and materials that are rigorous and common core focused.

3. Teaching through inquiry-based learning techniques that push the student to think while also being prepared to model not just the “how to solve” but also the conceptual understanding behind the procedure.

4. Creation of formative assessments allows for me to track student progress and respond to the students needs much faster.

The end goal is not just to learn the skill, but to master the skill.
