My teaching method is based upon hands on experience, practice, and patience. The most effective way to learn a musical instrument is simply just to play it! In my piano lessons, I sit next to the student and help direct them. Also, I incorporate listening as a part of learning. A student can more easily understand how to play the piano musically after hearing how other musicians play. However, it is important to have a theoretical understanding of music and I help students to learn about scales, chord progressions, and compositional forms.
I am a student at Brigham Young University. I have played the piano for 11 years, sang in audition-only choirs, and competed in several piano competitions. In 2018, I placed first in the Weymouth Young Musicians Festival. I am read music very well, understand music theory, and have a knowledge of music history.
Please cancel the lesson at least 24 hours in advance. Any cancellations less than 24 hours in advance will still be expected to pay for half the cost of the lesson/

I have been close friends with Ellie for several years. Her dedication to mastery in her academic endeavors has always inspired me. I have watched her teach and mentor several other students, including those older than her. She is a thorough, patient instructor who strives to help others truly understand the subject material.
