I have been playing acoustic guitar since I was 16 years old and I picked it up quickly. I started playing in a mariachi ensemble in high school, where I learned basic rhythm and chords. Since then, I progressed to learn other genres and styles of playing. I really enjoy finger picking where that can accompany folk and soft rock songs very well. I'm open to all sorts of music that attain a guitar from the past to current songs. James Taylor and Jim Croce have been a significant influence on my playing. My teaching method is always to keep things simple, yet teach the basics efficiently. I will teach proper chord shapes, positions, and rhythm for all songs. I approach each lesson with a positive and amusing vibe. I feel this way is the best approach to reinforce individual practice and the enjoyment of learning for each student.
I currently work as a mental health technician at a mental health facility for adolescents. I run both therapeutic and school programs throughout the day. My goal is to provide effective solutions for each patient while building a strong, appropriate rapport. I have the pleasure to play music with the children and teach them new songs and tricks on the guitar. I am currently studying social work at TMCC and UNR. I feel music brings everyone together, and I've enjoyed playing and teaching others with a positive and entertaining vibe.
I am open for price negotiations with all students. My main goal is to teach and have an enjoyable time with a pursuing musician.
