I encourage my students to search for answers on their own by guiding them in the right direction. I believe problem solving is the key to a successful career in science & healthcare jobs, therefore, I try to engage my students in learning how to problem solve on their own. Having a clinical background gives me an advantage to help students understand concepts in a more practical way and also allows for the subject matter to become more interesting. I use a lot of visual techniques in helping students understand concepts, as well as organizing large amounts of information that can be more readily retrieved by memory when needed. I absolutely love tutoring, especially when a student has that "ah ha" moment of really understanding and being excited about learning.
