My teaching method is tailored to every student’s learning style. I can give lectures, help with homework, or work problems alongside students.
To learn something it is helpful to be exposed to the material in many different ways and formats; This helps to strengthen neural pathways so the information is easy to recall and utilize. Moreover, I try to answer questions and teach using many different mediums --visual, auditory, and analogical. As a tutor, I am always learning during every session about how to better serve students’ needs to ensure upmost satisfaction.
Dear Student,
My name is kat piera and I am a sophomore at Virginia Tech(Electrical Engineering) taking a gap year due to some recent health issues. I have keratoconus, so I have to have a couple of surgeries on my left eye in the next few months. However, I still have one good eye, so I can still work. I am currently looking for tutoring jobs. Currently, I am a tutor on multiple tutoring platforms and I am accepting new students. I am a tutor in the following subjects: art( I have had my work on display in a gallery) ACT English, and high school(AP or regular) chemistry, and general college chemistry.
I believe that I am a suitable candidate for this job because of my reliability. Given a deadline, I will meet it under almost any circumstance. I have a very quick response time and work to provide students many resources. Prior to tutoring sessions, I prepare materials based on the students’ needs.
Due to the Coronavirus, I am currently only conducting sessions online, but I can offer a very affordable reduced rate because I acknowledge that online lessons are not always as productive as in-person lessons. I also provide practice tests and notes, so you will not only benefit from the time during the lesson but also will be prepared to self-study effectively after the lesson.

Additionally, I am excited (like an electron)to be able to help students learn and grow. I am filled with joy whenever I see a student have an “aha” moment.
Thank you for your time and consideration. Please contact me if you are interested.
Sincerely, kat piera
