Artist with 10+ years of experience gives drawing and painting lessons in Seattle
About the lesson
My teaching method is to first cover the basics, such as proportions and tone, then move on to shading methods and ways to improve preexisting skills. There are different shading methods such as hatching, cross-hatching, stippling, etc., and they can all be used to improve the quality of a drawing. I will also cover individual features such as the eyes, nose, mouth, and hair. For painting, I will go over color theory and help students to incorporate it into their art.

Hello! I am currently a university student at the University of Washington, Seattle campus. Art is one of my major fields of interest, and due to my guidance, several students I have taught have honed their skills and raise their grades in school art classes. I mainly focus on portraiture with graphite, colored pencils, and oil paints. Human portraits are harder to draw than, for example, animal portraits (this is because if one draws an animal with proportions that are off, you can still tell what animal it is, but this is not the case with a portrait of a person), so I like to help share my knowledge of drawing human faces accurately.
Perfect! Thanks to Danika’s efforts and patience I can now sketch, she explains each step very well.
- Danika's response : Binny is a great student! He is very good at following along with the drawing exercises, and is enthusiastic about learning how to draw.
