I approach Mathematical concepts by getting an understanding of the student's knowledge to serve as a foundation that can be built upon. This is accomplished by encouraging students to verbally describe their methods used to completing certain problems, asking them to describe any other possible methods of completing said problems, and reenforcing the logic behind certain procedures and formulas.
I am an aspiring Math teacher with a degree in Social Science Teacher Preparation. I took part in providing study-sessions for my Calculus II class, helping them work through difficult problems and completing study-guides for midterms and finals. I have passed most of my Math courses with high grades and have always made an effort to help others understand difficult topics and ideas. I have also had the pleasure of observing different Calculus courses taught to high-schoolers, which allowed me to get an understanding of how to teach given topics to new students.
