About Lizzie
I am a fine art painter, specialising in portraits. I have attended prestigious art schools, Central Saint Martins and Wimbledon College of Art. I have been awarded two art scholarships, aged 16 and aged 20 from prestigious schools and Worshipful companies. I have worked at London art fairs and with an international artist in Madrid. I graduated last year from University and since then have been in numerous London exhibitions, including The OXO Tower Wharf and two art prizes, The Signature Art Prize and The Ruth Borchard Self Portrait Prize. I have taught classes at University and helped others to understand the figure, to build confidence and how to utilise materials.

My teaching method is simple, I like to see what the student knows and can do, to draw a simple interpretation of a photograph using a medium of their choice. After a certain amount of time we discuss strong points and ideas they have grasped, but also ones they can improve on, for instance contrast, depth and perspective. The best way is to constantly look back and forth between painting and photograph, to step back and to make those changes your eye is telling you to. Also I believe quick drawings of 1-2 minutes can be so valuable to grasp the necessities of a good portrait or painting, again perspective, depth and shadow.
