Bachelor of Arts with graduate school education and lapsed MA teaching certification for grades 9-12 in History, Social Studies and Behavioral Sciences. I have taught or tutored Middle School level u

Methodology

I aim for a Socratic style of pedagogy that emphasizes developing a student's critical thinking skills and engaging their enthusiastic interest in the subject as the best means to mastering it. I do this in an age appropriate method that is guided by the Deweyesque philosophy of education which is not depositing information in a students mind, but rather in exciting a student's curiosity to know and understand in a way natural and unique to every learner.

Background

For 7 years I have taught and tutored hundreds of students from Grade 7 to adults who were no longer in formal schooling. As a result my students and tutees have passed to a higher grade, graduated from high school or achieved their GED.

Rates
