UC Berkeley Grad gives English lessons, tutoring on all levels in the Bay!

Methodology

I am a recent graduate from UC Berkeley with a B.A. in both English Literature and Film Studies. I have more than three years of tutoring experience, having taught students on all levels for many different areas of English. This has included essay and college writing, creative writing, grammar, correct use of terminology, analytical and critical reading/writing, essay research, and more.

My characteristics as a teacher first and foremost involve both patience and devotion. I will never leave the student without assurance that they have understood the material. My methods of teaching involve many visual examples, close reading, reviewing, and testing the student to ensure they understand what we have practiced.

Background

In my years of teaching students, I have taught more than a few hundred. Many times over I have helped improve poor grades - in some cases, changing an English course grade as low as a D to as high as an A.

Despite these accomplishments, however, I find it is not the improvement of the scores that matter most - but whether or not the students truly comprehend the material. For such is what will continue to progress them as they advance in their academics.
