I believe that every person can learn with targeted instruction. I believe in the practical use of the language—using the language to discuss various subjects and topics. Students must have ample opportunities to practice the language. I believe in activating a student's knowledge at the beginning of every lesson and thus, building their confidence for the remainder of the lesson. Then, explicit instruction is helpful to introduce new materials. Then, I transition students into 1-2 activities that require the use of the previously attained knowledge (ex: sorting a text, writing a text in a different tense, creating an infographic/visual, etc.)
I graduated with a B.A. in 2009. I just completed my M.S. in education at Johns Hopkins University. I have taught Spanish 1, 4, and AP for the past five years at the high school level. I am trilingual and have spoken both Spanish and English my entire life. I studied French academically.
If I am travelling to New York, I will have to factor in tolls into the cost of travel fee. Cancellations must be given at least 48 hours in advance.

Miss. Candelario is an amazing and trustworthy teacher because she is always there for her students no matter what it entails. She is involved in various school and community activities all helping to enrich and engage her students. There have been a multitude of opportunities that she has given to her students to help them become involved as well as create connections throughout the state. She is an all around amazing teacher in everyway and truly embodies what it means to be an influential teacher!
I have had the pleasure to be one of Pati’s students for 2 years and it has been amazing! Her dedication to her students is so refreshing and appreciated. She is always willing to help and also motivates her students to be the best they can be. She meets you at your level and challenges you to improve. This has helped me grow so much as a person and as a spanish student. She is so personable and down to earth and that makes learning enjoyable. I love having her as a teacher.
Pati exemplifies the meaning of a trustworthy teacher. I have witnessed Pati's teaching practices over the past two years as a co-worker and friend. Pati's approach to education and teaching is interactive and specific to meet the individual needs of each of her students. Pati holds her students in the highest regard and creates opportunities for them to not only succeed in the classroom, but in the real world as well. Pati is proficient in multiple languages and offers a variety of instructional approaches. Pati is flexible, a lifelong learner, and dedicated to impacting young people's lives in a positive manner. She is truly a remarkable individual!
She works hard every day, whether it’s in a lesson, or just supporting students in general. She is dedicated and tries her hardest in every single endeavour she goes through. She is supportive as well. I cannot count how many times on both hands she has been at special after-school events to support her students when other teachers don’t bother to stay past 2:30. I recommend Miss Candelario because she is one of the best teachers I’ve had in all my years of schooling
