I study creative writing (and biology) at Bryn Mawr College, and have a background in developing writing skills. My goal is to help students learn how to approach reading and writing, so my lessons are centered on their English assignments from school. For example, if a student must complete a reading assignment with annotations, I spend that tutoring session reading the text together and working on how to annotate a text in a way that is productive.
Hi there! My name is Jenna, and I'm looking to work as a regular English tutor during this school year (September 2021-May 2022). I have worked as a ski instructor for children of all ages since 2015, which has given me experience breaking down large (and sometimes abstract) concepts in ways students can understand. I was a peer editor with a focus in long-term writing development throughout high school. I study creative writing and biology at Bryn Mawr College, and I love to read and write. However, I know neither reading nor writing is always easy, so my goal is to give students the tools to approach and complete English-based assignments with confidence.
I'm immunosuppressed and take COVID-19 very seriously. For in-person lessons, I am looking to work with families that are also cautious, willing to be tested and plan to get the vaccine when it is available to them. I am fully vaccinated.
