Science is for everyone!
A slogan presented with pride across the platforms of the Chicago Council on Science and Technology (C2ST).
Established in the year 2005, the council set upon a simple notion that can hardly be misconstrued: to enhance the publics' understanding and appreciation of science and technology whilst acknowledging the impact both have on our society in the past, present and future.
A committed team of science enthusiasts and a welcome donation from NASA has allowed the council to host over 430 scientific experts conducting various workshops and talks, 220+ programs specifically tailored toward tech and science, hosting over 22,000 people to such events with a 95% approval rate of those who have attended.
C2ST isn't the only organization that has sparked an interest within the sciences amongst Chicagoans.
In fact, each year there is a range of events, public seminars, and festivals dedicated to anything and everything upon the subject area.
Similar to other major cities such as New York, Boston & Houston, Chicago hosts its very own annual science festival, organized by an independent organization that aims to engage, educate & entertain the public about Science.
The mission statement reflects that of the STEM subjects that were introduced into the public educational system in 2001.
What does STEM stand for?

This statement by the ISC reflects the attitude the city has toward science, and how it wishes to be regarded as the frontrunner in scientific innovation in the United States.
Due to the high concentration of students within the city, there is also a high concentration of job prospects for science graduates looking to work in the city upon completion of their studies.
