If you're a student in high school and wondering what chemistry is going to be like for you, wonder no more. In tenth grade, you can take a normal high school chemistry course, however, if you really want to try and make chemistry what you want to study in college and even get a job in chemistry you should think about taking advanced lessons.

You can take Honors Chemistry instead of the normal chemistry class if you received high marks in your biology class, as well as the math classes you've taken in ninth and tenth grades. Honors Chemistry is a fantastic way of preparing yourself for college as it is a more intense chemistry course it looks much better on your high school resume. Taking this class will also require you to become better prepared for taking classes in college as you will need to be really organized and develop study habits to help you pass.

If you do happen to take Honors Chemistry and feel you had a good handle on it, you can then take AP Chemistry. While Honors Chemistry is a more difficult version of the normal chemistry class you take in tenth grade, AP Chemistry is a college-level class you can take to earn credit. If you can pass your final AP Chemistry exam with a high enough grade you'll be able to start off your chemistry major with 3 college credits already in hand.
