If you're reading this then you're probably a fan of chemistry, even during your high school years when plenty of school subjects seem really boring. However, if the chemistry is your thing then great, during tenth grade you will be taking a chemistry course. If you didn't get the best grades in biology or your high school math classes taking the normal chemistry course may be for you.

If you see a future for yourself in chemistry but you don't feel ready for a more advanced class then there's no shame in taking the normal chemistry class in tenth grade and work hard and then you can think about taking AP Chemistry.

It does not consist of all-new material, instead of the same material as the normal course however given to you at a more intense pace with much more work.

If after you've taken your first chemistry course you are still very interested in chemistry and got good grades you can then take AP Chemistry. Advanced Placement Chemistry is a chemistry course that is made to be the same difficult as a college chemistry course. Earning a high mark in AP Chemistry can give you three credits for college if you score high enough on the final exam run by CollegeBoard. It is also a great way for preparing you for a major in chemistry when you take the next step.
