In order to teach a new concept to students, I first evaluate their skill level by letting them try and solve the problem on their own. After seeing what they know, I expand on their previous knowledge and demonstrate how the problem can solved. Finally, I let them try and solve the problem again making small adjustments as they put the skills I just taught them into practice. I have then have them solve the problems until they can consistently reach the correct solution on their own.

I am a recent graduate from Polytechnic School in Pasadena, CA and now attend Brown University in Providence, RI. I have tutored and worked with kids in Elementary, Middle, and High School. I've took advanced placement classes in Math and Physics in high school and earned high scores on the exams, as well as a perfect score on the Math SAT 2 placement exam and a near perfect score on the ACT. I work really well with children and have helped to teach new concepts using a variety of methods.
