• Can you tell us about your first experience using a computer?

  I would describe my first experience using a computer as an overwhelmed experience. It was both exciting and challenging to learn about something new.

• What is the technological evolution that has marked you most and what will be, in your eyes, a turning point in this field?

  I find the development of the internet quite interesting. It is by far one of the most versatile and useful creations by man. With the amount of information contained on the internet, every field of study including mine has benefited greatly from it.

• Explain your expertise, your interest in it and, more broadly, its importance in the computer world.

  To be a designer is to be a creative person. I took interest in the field of design due to the fact that it allows me express ideas in an interesting and pleasant way. It has also helped a great deal to make the computer world a more "colorful" one.

• Do so-called 'visionaries', such as Bill Gates, Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg inspire you or do you have other role models?

  Looking into the lives of these computer visionaries is so very inspiring. They have succeeded in creating life changing technologies which have an impact in almost every corner of the world.

• Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.

  I remember the first time I was going to teach an online class. I was still in school but I needed the extra money. I was so nervous that I was on the verge of cancelling the lesson, but I summoned up the courage anyways. My student was really very nice and encouraging that I lost all the build up tension and even felt silly about my overreaction.

• What would you say to an uncomfortable person in front of a screen who says that "IT is too complicated"?

  I would encourage the person to just give it a try and take it one step at a time, because things always seem difficult the first time around.

• What are your other passions, related or non-related to computers?

  One other profession I'm passionate about more than that of being a designer is that of healthcare. It's my belief that healthcare workers are a gift to humanity.

• What makes you a Superprof in IT?

  Well, becoming a superprof is something I attribute to "giving it your best". Sometimes it was not always easy but I can boldly say that God's grace saw me through.
