In a group setting, its most important to assess the level of the group and be able to reach students at whatever level they currently are at. In an individual setting the approach is similar, but with much more room for the student to grow at their own pace. I believe understanding where students are coming from and building off the knowledge they already know is important, as well as motivating and inspiring them to learn themselves.
I am currently a Cal Poly Undergrad going into my senior year of college. I have experience teaching small marching bands as well as basic music theory tutoring and have performed in Drum Corps International (competitive marching band). My performance background primarily consists of Brass(Trumpet) in a classical background and Keyboards in a recording background.
