I focus on tailoring my lessons to the individual needs, goals, and learning style(s) of the student. By building on the current knowledge base of the student, I relate new material in a meaningful way. I also find creative ways to explain complex ideas in different ways until the student fully comprehends and can explain what he or she has learned clearly. As part of this, I try to make learning as fun as possible to engage the student, regardless of the subject.
I have been teaching English as a second language and English literature for over fifteen years in schools and online. I have guided more than ten English learners to succeed on the TOEFL exam using innovative methods and a variety of media. As a language arts teacher, I have taught writing, classic literature, drama, and grammar in context to individuals as well as class sizes of thirty. As part of this, I have guided students through dramatic reenactments of a variety of plays, from those by Shakespeare to Zora Neale Hurston.

Bobbi is an excellent French/English language teacher. She interacts well with a wide age range of students and establishes a great foundation for acquiring language proficiency. Bobbi is a great choice!
I will gladly give a recommendation for Bobbi! She was a great French teacher which I sat under and her style was not only professional and fun, but she also taught me how to stretch my mind to learn more in vocabulary and grammar. She was enjoyable to work with and she made my learning experience worth the effort!
