Chicago-based communications professional with a PhD and more than 10 years of university teaching experience offering online public speaking coaching and communication instruction

Methodology

I am most experienced teaching adult university students, and the structures of my classes vary depending on the subject, the class period's topic, and the level of students. In a 100 level class, I tend to lecture with PowerPoint, but, in a 400 level class, I rely more heavily on class discussions and student presentations. Of course, I am always adapting my style, based on my current students' needs, abilities, and challenges.

Background

I earned my PhD in communication from Wayne State University, my MA in organizational and multicultural communication from DePaul University, and my BA from Olivet College. I have taught Intercultural Communication, Business and Professional Communication (a business-oriented public speaking class), Communication and Small Group Decision-making, Introduction to Film, Survey of Mass Communication, and Senior Capstone in Communication.
