My primary focus is to get the student to achieve the best sound, on every note, one note at a time, as easily as possible. It is crucial for the mental wellness aspects of music to be addressed regularly; the music world can bring many difficult emotions to deal with (i.e. an unsatisfactory audition result, a bad practicing day, a motivational slump, etc) and I navigate through these feelings with my students I’m the healthiest way possible.
I am a student studying my Masters Degree in Trombone Performance at Northwestern University. I have freelanced all over the Chicagoland area and have performed with ensembles such as the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and the Civic Orchestra of Chicago, among others.
I have known Ben for several years and I cannot recommend him enough as a teacher! We were classmates at college and he is incredibly hardworking and dedicated. He is also an amazing trombonist and has a wealth of knowledge to share with his students. His passion for the instrument will inspire you.
I've known Ben from studying music together at Northwestern University's Bienen School of Music.
Ben is an excellent and trustworthy teacher. He is versatile in his approach to teaching and can accommodate students in all levels of Trombone playing. He is extremely patient and has a very positive and encouraging personality! Ben has performed with top notch ensembles, including the great Chicago Symphony Orchestra-- there is no doubt he is an excellent musician. His profundity of music is incredible. One of the best qualities about Ben as a teacher is his immense depth of support and care he has for, not only music, but the individual student as well. He will push his student to be the very best they can be musically and as a person!
