When I teach I focus on the four different learning styles: aural, visual, kinesthetic, and logical, and it is my goal to make sure that there is a bit of each skill set used in every concept I teach. I strive to teach by stressing the positive, meaning what the student does well, instead of the negative. I believe that students learn best from a place of confidence. Because of this, I will often start from a place that is intentionally “too easy” and increase the difficulty from there. It is difficult when dealing with a classroom since students will tend to feel confident at different paces, but it is my goal to stress that positive thing that the student is doing well, versus the eight things the student is not doing well. I will address those eight things, but only with the praise and positivity overlaying the corrections.
I have a Master's degree in vocal performance and I have been teaching music fundamentals, beginning piano, and voice to ages 2 through adult. From a parent of a student: "AmberRose has worked with my child since she was 3 years old and I have seen how much my child has grown in both singing, and also her love for music in general. AmberRose makes music accessible and fun for kids, and I have no doubt she is a major influence in my daughter's love for singing. This is my child's 5th year in working with AmberRose and my daughter continues to love their time together."
