I possess a masters degree in environmental chemistry, earned from Duke University.
I use my training to teach students the concepts of general chemistry by incorporating real world examples into instruction sessions. I am flexible with my instruction methods depending on the students' needs. Working through homework problems assigned in class has proven useful as it allows the students to learn concepts but also accomplish assignments. I do not believe in handing out answers, but instead insisting the student critically think about an issue before I intervene. I tutor high school and college level general chemistry, and environmental science courses.
Experience is as follows:
200+ hours of personalized tutoring
Instructed 200+ students in 15 college level chemistry courses
Created and instructed 50+ students in an online earth science course
I am flexible with my teaching style and adjust to the student's needs.
$30 for high school chemistry and $35 for college level chemistry.
I am also able to review and edit lab reports "offline" and submit the time and completed report to the student for final approval.
