My teaching approach is very understanding-based. This can be difficult for chemistry because it often involves interactions at a microscopic scale, which can be hard to visualize especially when not in a lab setting. That said, I work with the student(s) to help them see the concepts from whatever viewpoint works best for them, and then I help them to build on their understanding as we move forward and the concepts and interactions get increasingly more complex. But of course, I always check to make sure they are keeping up well, answering any questions they might have along the way, and encouraging them to be openly curious about what they are learning!
**NOTE: I DO NOT TUTOR IN ORGANIC CHEMISTRY 2.** I have been tutoring officially for over a year now, although I also have led many unofficial study sessions in preparation for exams, especially in both chemistry lectures and labs. Additionally, I have managed to maintain all As in all my classes, with the exception of the ochem 1 lab, where I maintained a high B. In high school, I managed to break the 13-year drought of students not passing the AP Chem exam and became the first student to pass it at that time, also helping two others to obtain a higher score.

-Honors General Chemistry 2 & associated (general level) lab, completed both with an A (2019)

Addison has been tutoring for the past year and a half while attending the University of Kentucky with a double major in biology and Spanish and a minor in creative writing. He is currently a junior. He took several AP exams and classes while attending high school. He achieved a score of 35 of the ACT and was named a National Merit Finalist in 2018. He is very passionate about learning and is able to translate that into teaching others in a variety of subjects. I highly recommend Addison as a tutor.
Addison is our grandson. He is a very smart and patient tutor. He is well-rounded in his knowledge base and has a great deal of experience tutoring others.
Addison defiantly knows his stuff! He can explain it multiple ways to make sure it’s clear and will make sure your good along the way!
