My teaching method is to first have the student read information. Next, I briefly lecture, then allow them to try to synthesize information alone before I answer any questions. It is important for the student to attempt to think independently before asking for assistance. A huge part of learning history is conceptualizing information. This is hard to do if you rely on other people's input.
I am a sophomore at the University of Notre Dame. I am a History major minoring in Education, Schooling & Society. I have tutored 8 kids since high school. Two of which I helped get into top tier schools and still mentor today. I assist them with their intro to history courses as well as basic study habits.
