I am a very organized student who needs step-by-step explanations as to how things work, and must have topics broken down to make better sense of the topic as a whole. This is the same way I approach teaching others and it seems to have worked very well in my previous experiences with tutoring others. I have learned that creating a strong foundation for the subject or topic one is learning will truly help them master other topics under the same subject, which is why my focus when teaching others is to make sure they have a strong understanding of the foundational aspects of the topic they are learning. I understand that some students are visual learners and some are auditory learners, while others are both and I can implement all three learning styles as I have been each one of those learners in different class I have taken throughout my student career.
I am a sophomore in college pursing a biology degree. My experience with tutoring started back in middle school when I worked as a TA for a class and was able to help students in a math class achieve a better understand of the material they were struggling with. That experience has lead me to realize my passion for helping others understand subjects and material they might not feel as comfortable with so I started working as a TA in a summer school program my church hosted every year. In addition to that, I took on individual tutoring jobs throughout high school which has allowed me to work with children from the ages of four to students in high school.
