I am currently a college student. I tutored professionally (with a company) for a year before being let go due to Covid shutdowns, but I have been volunteering my time as a tutor for as long as I can remember.

In a general sense, I ask the learner how they think they should go about finding the answer. If they’re on the right track, I let them keep going on their own, guiding when needed. If they’re stuck, I’ll walk them through the problem with guided questions to gauge understanding. Then, we start again with a new problem to gauge what they’ve learned and where we need to focus on.
