I like to first get to know the student as a person and musician, and see what kind of goals they have with their instrument. Choosing music and technique practices that are enjoyable and also help grow musicianship is an important step in my process, and I like students to be a part of that. I also like to integrate effective practice techniques into my lessons so students can grow in lessons and on their own as well.
I am currently studying at Seattle University for a Bachelor of Music in String Performance and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. I am also in the honors program, and am the music director at the KXSU student radio station. I started teaching cello and guitar lessons locally my junior year of high school, and have a substitute position as a cello and guitar instructor at Meter Music School in Seattle. I am passionate about music education and am flexible working with all different types of students.
