My teaching philosophy is all about versatile teaching. As someone with attention difficulties who struggled all throughout school until college, I know how it feels to be left behind, mislabeled, and misunderstood.
I use a variety of teaching methods, models, and explanations to explain things to students in a form they understand the best. I effortfully strive to make tutoring sessions interesting and feel like a conversation more than a lecture. I pride myself in my assessment skills of student's progress and adjusting to their progress, learning style, and interests.
I earned an Associate of Science in Biology at Utah Valley University, being placed on the Deans List all five semesters before moving to Seattle for school and a future career. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology from the University of Washington - Seattle and am now preparing to enter medical school.
I have many hours of research involving cell pigmentation and novel mutations as well as the pathology and genetics of Alzheimer's Disease. I have an abundance of experience in volunteering and a strong passion for philanthropy and helping underserved populations, and have a goal of one day heading a charitable healthcare organization.
I also have a passion for tutoring and helping people overcome struggles and frustrations that come along with learning challenging subjects. Nothing makes me happier than seeing a student transition from feelings of inadequacy and helplessness to accomplishment and confidence.
