About the lesson
I am a wife and mother of two teenagers who has had a passion for dance since the age of 3. I have a BA of Fine Arts in Dance from the University of Arizona. I taught high school dance for 15 years and now teach adult dance classes as well as Cardio Barre. As a teacher, I am very patient, easy-going and motivating. I love sharing my passion with others and seeing their growth. Dance is not only a great way to stay in shape but also an amazing emotional outlet for such things as stress, anxiety, depression and serves as an amazing tool for self-expression. Dance is not only about the steps or technique, but also about using those tools to tell a story, your story, someone else's story, express emotions, pay tribute to someone or something, or simply one's therapy. This is the Magic of Dance.
- Contemporary Dance
I have taught up to 50 students and have extensive experience in choreography. Whether it's a solo, duet, trio, small group, or large group, I have taught and choreographed for them all over the past 17 years. My genres of experience are Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Contemporary, Lyrical, Modern, Broadway, and Choreography. Students of mine have gone from a true beginner of dance to the advanced dancer with emotional expression and admirable creativity throughout their high school experience.
