About Lungisa
I am a Data Science Masters student, I have been tutoring fellow students since my first year as a tertiary student. I have tutored learners in grade 4-7 (maths) and 8-12 (maths and science) at an orphanage as well as in my neighborhood. I have also tutored undergraduate chemistry students and Python programming third year students. I have also worked as a lab demonstrator to first and third year students at Wits University for 3 years.

I have had to use 3 teaching methods thus far, lecturing, discussing and demonstrating. I always start by discussing to find out about how the student thinks and how much the student knows about the concept. Then I use the lecturing and demonstrating techniques together to explain the concept and fill in the gaps from the discussions. I also set mini tests and assignments to see if there’s any progress. I always close with exam paper questions when a topic has been covered.
