My name is Davide and I am a postdoctoral researcher in the Biomathematics Department at UCLA. Previously, I was a postdoctoral researcher in the Mathematical Oncology Division at City of Hope, Duarte.
I obtained a Master Degree in Theoretical Physics in Italy (Torino) in 2011 and a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from the University of East Anglia (UK) in 2016.
I have thirteen years of experience in teaching Mathematics and Physics to high school, undergraduate and graduate students.
During these years I developed the ability to be in empathy with students who have difficulties with Mathematics and Physics. This helps me in understanding student's problems, understand the most effective strategy to approach the problems and, finally, to help students to succeed in overcoming their problems related to Mathematics and Physics.
(2017-July 2019) I present lectures on a regular basis to the Division of Mathematical Oncology group at City of Hope. Subjects covered: Quantum Mechanics, Stochastic Differential Equations, Special Relativity, and other topics related to Physics and Mathematics.
While working at City of Hope I lectured a module in "Calculus for Life Science" for graduate students.
(2016-2017) Mathematics Learning Enhancement Tutor at the University of East Anglia (UK) for students enrolled in the following programs at: Chemistry, Economics, Environmental Sciences and Biology. During this period I assisted students whose main program was not Mathematics.
(2012-2016) Teacher assistant during undergraduate and graduate seminars for students enrolled in the Mathematics program at the University of East Anglia (UK). I assisted and helped students who were struggling in different aspects of Mathematics and Physics. The topics covered were: Linear Algebra, Calculus, Multivariable Calculus, Differential Equations, Partial Differential Equations, Mechanics, Quantum Mechanics.
(2006-2012) High school teacher in Mathematics and Physics. During these years of teaching the topics covered included: Trigonometry, Analytic Geometry, Precalculus, Calculus, Mechanics, Fluid Dynamics, Thermodynamics, Electromagnetism and Optics.
August 2019-Present: Postdoctoral Researcher, UCLA, Department of Biomathematics.
2017-July2019: Postdoctoral Researcher, City of Hope, Division of Mathematical Oncology
2012-2016: Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics, University of East Anglia, Norwich, United Kingdom
2006-2011: Master Degree in Theoretical Physics with full marks (110/110).
2002-2006: Bachelor's Degree in Physics, Università degli studi di Torino, Final score 106/110.
