About Cassandra

I am currently a Kindergarten teacher, utilizing the Orton- Gillingham Approach. This is my 2nd year in K and my 3rd year teaching. I have worked as a basic skills teacher for grades 1-3 in both ELA& Mathematics with a course load of 78 students. I pre& post assessed each student as well as provided needed interventions. I have always had a geuine passion for education and providing the best possible future for every child I work with.

My teaching method is to first establish a relationship with my students/class. We must first build a foundation of safety, understanding, acceptance and community amongst one another. Creating a growth mindset is key in my methodology. Every child can and will learn ,when given the right tools to do so. I believe that first tool is establishing a self confidence so strong within in child that they can positively say, “ I may not know how just yet, but I will.”
