My teaching methods help optimize student learning by focusing on key concepts, checking for wholistic understanding of the foundational and current knowledge, and balancing individual problem-solving, tutoring, and collaboration.
I start by determining student comprehension, finding helpful and relevant points to review. Then, I focus on the development of necessary skills for success and constantly check for understanding by working through examples and having students explain their thinking process. I emphasize understanding, critical thinking, and a growth-mindset.
I am a dedicated MS in Education student with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with an emphasis in Statistics and concentration in Computer Science.
I have three years of experience tutoring algebra, statistics, and calculus-and-above mathematics to many students of different backgrounds including beginning undergraduate, engineering and business undergraduates, and math and computer science majors.
I also have applied experience lesson planning and curriculum organization and development that allows me to best prepare students for academic success.
