My approach as a tutor is to assess the learning style of the student and adapt the curriculum to their needs. In a group setting I encourage cooperative learning. In using many different learning styles, the student is able to understand and retain the subject matter easier.
I have a degree in Child Development. I taught in the preschool setting for years. I home schooled my children for 12 years. Once they all entered public high school into the GATE program I volunteered in an elementary school working with struggling learners. I currently work with ESL students online.

Perfect! My daughter so far has really enjoyed her classes with Beccalynn who has been very patient, kind, very organized, and most importantly teaching a lot of fundamental concepts my daughter really needs to learn. It's super cool to also see progress and updates in the various web tools she uses.
Great parents to work with. Supportive of their student and allowed me to evaluate freely. I had a wonderful time. I look forward to working with them in the future.
Perfect! She is very kind and patient with me. I loved her!
I love your focus on learning. I am excited to work with you on English. Your pronunciation is very good. Remember to be patient with yourself while you practice.

Thank you Regina for the lesson, she is a delightful story teller. She is descriptive and observational in her Language Arts activities. Her ability read with inflection is wonderful. I thoroughly enjoyed our lesson today.
Perfect! Rebbeca is a very good teacher, she is very committed to achieving the learning goals. She is always on time and prepared for the Class. I have my son taking classes with her to improve reading and math and he enjoys a lot working with Rebbeca. She totally finds the way to get his attention and get him learning the topics. Thanks Rebbeca for helping us!
Dante speaks English very well. He is very focused and eager to learn. I enjoyed working with him. Working on fluency and math concepts is a good focus for him. Thank you for a fun hour.
Rebecca and I have worked on several dance theater productions including our annual Nutcracker with a cast of over 200 children and teens. Rebecca is a talented props maker and theater hand, but when you are working with children & teens in theater it takes a little something extra beyond being creative, crafty, and quick on your feet. It means pep talks in the wings, teachable moments with curious kids interested in a different aspect of the production they are working on, tutoring when kids have homework to complete during the run of a show, remembering that everyone needs snacks and hydration to be at their best, passing your skills on to other people that need to understudy what you are doing in case you are unavailable for the next showing or production, and generally being a team player that is up for almost anything. She has all of these skills and more. Her background in child development and education make her poised to do this well and she’s really great at working with and teaching kids especially.
