I like to approach teaching by using practical examples. If possible,
I accomplish this by stating a concept ( E=IR) and demonstrate it using a resistor and utilizing a Multi-meter to demonstrate the practical elements, Voltage, Current and Resistance. Normally I would expand this into resistive circuit networks and then eventually add inductive and capacitive components. I encourage student participation. I reward my students with candy, goodies and praise. (yes, even adults like this approach). I use jokes and humor to keep my students attentive.
