I begin with asking the student and other stakeholders what needs to be learned. Then, I create a student-centered syllabus. From that, I plan enjoyable and useful lessons. I also give relevant homework and quizzes if desired. Finally, I periodically survey student satisfaction.
For most of the last 20 years I have specialized in teaching university students who need to improve their skills in academic writing, reading, listening and speaking. I have extensive experience in teaching English for Academic Purposes and English for Specific Purposes. I have an MA in linguistics.
