About the lesson
My name is Alicia Hughes. I graduated with a Master's Degree in English Language Learners. I taught Pre-K for Head Start and had the privilege of working with ESL students. I believe in using modeling, having the students repeat sounds and words until they are comfortable with the language. I also use hands-on lessons for students in subjects such as math. My characteristics as a teacher are that I am patient, I enjoy watching students learn, and I enjoy working with students one-on-one.

About Alicia
I taught a couple of ESL classes when I substituted a couple of years ago. In each class, I had 4 to 5 students. We used books and went over grammar using a whiteboard and played games. The students were able to understand grammar better after I taught them. They learned the correct way to pronounce words. We also went over parts of the story that was read and they were able to talk about setting, character, and the moral of the story. The discussions that were held after the stories also enhanced the students' conversational skills.
