I like to build a rapport with my students and get to know them and their background. I like to have fun and actually am quite humorous. I want my students to be successful and will do whatever it takes in order for them to become proficient in English.
I have taught grades 6 through 12 and also college classes in English, Reading Comprehension, Writing, English As a Second Language, and Conversational English as well as Business English. I am patient, kind, caring, and love teaching! I am organized and punctual.
If you need to cancel a lesson, please try to give me 24 hours notice if possible, and you will pay a $10.00 fee if you do not give any notice and cancel at the last minute.

To Whom It May Concern:
I am writing to apply for the ESL teaching position that is open with your company. Les Brown once said, “Help others to achieve their dream and you will achieve yours.” I am a firm believer in helping others in any way that I can and encouraging students to achieve their dreams. I have also worked for a nonprofit organization before, Cultural Homestay International, and was an employee for five years. I helped place foreign exchange students in homes across the San Antonio area, and the students were enrolled in a local high school for one academic year. What a joy it was to work with them and their families to make their stay in the United States a successful one!
Now to share some reasons why I would be a perfect fit for this job! First of all, I am a seasoned teacher with 27 years of experience; most that knew me as an educator would say that I was always smiling, always punctual, organized, wrote great lesson plans, and was always willing to share what I know with others. I have a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction, a Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education, and am also ESL certified. I always had a huge amount of Special Education students in my classes, and the counselors knew how hard I worked with these students to ensure that they were successful. I am familiar with Mods, IEP’s, and ARD committee meetings. I often had to write my own curriculum for my ESL I, II, and Reading classes, because when I first started in the SCUCISD district there were no textbooks for me to use. As English teachers, we often had to write our own test questions for our Benchmark exams or other unit tests. I have also been tutoring online for three years for Frogtutoring.com and have been tutoring students that I have acquired on my own. I have tutored students from Kindergarten through Adults in English as well as Business English, and I have also prepared students for the TOFEL exam. I taught classes at the University of Texas through Webex and also had to present to the entire faculty (over 150 teachers) at some of our faculty meetings at SCUCISD to go over TELPAS writing samples, ESL teaching strategies, etc. I am very familiar with Zoom, Office Suite, Power Point presentations, etc.
I would like to thank you for taking the time to read my letter, and if you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to call or email me: (concealed information) . My phone number is on my resume. I look forward to hearing from you and hearing more about this position.
