I try to base my classes on the individual student and their needs. I like to think that I can work with different groups and people as long as there is a drive to learn. I like to see where a student is and try to think of different ways to get the student where they need to go. This can include using more traditional methods of instruction or it can include using new ways, such as technology, and individualized learning.
I am an ESL teacher with a Master's Degree in TESOL, a CELTA certificate, Beginner's Teacher License in ESL in North Carolina, and several years of experience working overseas in schools and language academies. I have worked with students with no English ability and I have worked with advanced students. I have taught conversational English, vocabulary building, reading comprehension, writing comprehension, IELTS test prep, TOEFL test prep, SAT verbal test prep, and GRE verbal test prep. I can tailor lessons based on the interest of the students or of the family.
