Background
Having taught in the public school system for 50 years as a middle, high school and college English teacher and having taught foreign students whose native languages were Arabic, Spanish, German, Vietnamese, Turkish, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Chinese and Portuguese, I have knowledge of the English language and the difficulties different cultures encounter when learning English. I especially am strong in helping students from various cultures conquer their particular problems in learning English. In additon, I have taught online using various programs, have access to SKYPE, Google Aps programs, and numerous materials to help students at all levels. I truly care about my students and want them to build confidence and succeed.

In that each student needs help with individual problems and at various levels, I will adapt my class to the individual student. I will need to evaluate the student verbally first, take a writing sample, and give a reading assessment. I will also need to know the goal of the student as each student's goal may vary. I have detailed lesson plans for both middle and high school in which the student works on academic vocabulary, grammar, reading skills, and writing skills. These assignments can relate and must relate to their normal school activities. Through individual live chats, I can also help students with their verbal communication, accent, and pronounciation. communicating clearly and correctly is the goal oof my lessons.
