About Carl

Hi, my name is Carl Mencke and I am currently a trombone and euphonium performance major at the University of Arizona. I have preformed with many different ensembles during my 10 years of experience from orchestras to jazz bands to wind ensembles. I also have 4 years of marching experience and was contracted for Arizona’s Academy of Preforming Arts.

My basic teaching approach is to start lessons of with around 15 minutes of fundamentals depending on the player. Next I help them with any music for ensembles they might be in and if there is still time we move into basic repertoire for their instrument. Lastly I will have the student end with a sight reading which would either be a solo or duet. Lessons always can be adapted to the players needs and wants.
