Experienced Elementary Ed Teacher with Masters Degree for Remote Academic Support! All elementary academics AND art!

About the lesson

I am a passionate, very relatable, affable educator. I am usually able to put students at ease, and meet them where they are scholastically, then scaffold up once their feet are on "solid ground". I want them to feel safe, and build their self esteem with each accomplishment. One step leads to the next. In small groups I facilitate students to bring their strengths to the group and let every student find that they are able to make a valuable contribution. Students have varied strengths; small groups can enable quieter students to see how their contribution is valuable, or brings something that no one else thought of. I am a big believer in Gardner's "Theory of Multiple Intelligences" and I utilize this when I teach. Students represent different types of learners. I find success in teaching when I enable each student to see their own strength and build confidence.

About Linda

I am an experienced and state certified teacher of Elementary Education in Connecticut. I began my role in education as a Preschool Head Teacher with children ages 3-5, then enrolled at Southern Connecticut State University's Graduate School of Education in New Haven, CT, where I received my Master's Degree and certification for Elementary Education K-6.
My teaching experience within the last 10 years includes working in urban and suburban schools; whole group, small group, and one-on-one, and includes working with children with special needs. I am experienced with teaching remotely, especially with Zoom.
