I have the ability to identify and work with each trainee's learning style and adjust the tutoring experience accordingly. I focus on the WHY and the CONCEPTS to math problems, and not just how to complete one problem. Once the underlying concepts are understood, I love to see that 'spark of recognition' in the student's eye! I find ways of asking questions or presenting problems in a way that allows me to see if the student truly understands what I've explained so far, before moving on. And I encourage a LOT of paper use when figuring out math problems to better spell out the problem at hand!
As an experienced engineer (35 years), trainer, Girl Scout Leader, teacher's aide, and mom, I've been working with and training people of all ages for many, many years and have the practical application of math skills experience as well. I prepare learning materials to help aid the trainees in visually understanding the concepts, whether for Kindergarten students or educated engineers. My patience and communication skills have been greatly appreciated by my trainees, based on the positive feedback they've given me.
I offer a discounted group hourly rate if students wish to attend a tutoring session either online or in person together. For group sessions, the one hour session time could extend a bit longer with no additional cost if needed, to ensure each student understands the session.
Group of 2: $15 per student for each hour of lesson time
Group of 3: $12 per student for each hour of lesson time

Kathy has taught both myself and countless others many difficult subjects over the years. She is equally equipped to engage with people of any age. She allows the student to move at their own pace, is patient with their progress and persistently follows up as needed. She breaks the complicated down into the simple and presents it in a way that makes sense. She loves what she does and has my full endorsement as a math teacher. You can’t go wrong with Kathy.
Kathy is a very knowledgeable technical expert that has taught many engineers at various experience levels.
I have personally worked with Kathy since 2008 and we have worked to fundamentally improve the skills of our technical team to bring them into the digital world. This has been done on an expanded global basis.
Her technical abilities combined with her excellent people skills make her a respected and trusted teacher that really enables knowledge sharing and transition to others.
