I am a passionate language teacher and I have experience teaching elementary, middle and high school students. This experience has developed my understanding of how language naturally develops, and has proven that age affects the ease at which it is learned. Most students do not have the opportunity to start learning a language until middle school, and I have actually found it advantageous (in a teacher aspect) that I am NOT a native speaker. I remember what it was like to learn as an older student, and that experience has positively influenced my methods in teaching a second language.
Hello! I am a current K-8 Spanish teacher and previously taught 6 years of upper-level high school. I have the responsibility of designing the curriculum, which includes developing students ability to read, write, and speak the language while developing a passion to learn. Many of my former students have skipped beginning levels of Spanish for both high school and college and chosen to continue their studies in the language. My experience living with a host family in Spain greatly developed my own abilities, and I still keep in contact with them.
