My teaching approach will vary on the strength of a particular student. I will meet with the student and first get a grasp of their knowledge of chess. If the student is a beginner, I will first make it a priority to get them acquainted with all the different rules and moves in the game. If they are at the intermediate level, then I will focus my teaching on practicing their skills through games and puzzles, as well as having them playing games of their own using chess.com so we can further analyze those games.
I am a high school graduate who will be attending USC in the spring. I hope to become not just a teacher, but a mentor who will foster an interest and passion for the world of chess. I have played numerous tournaments and finished highly in a significant number of them. My experience with chess extends more than 8 years in the past.
My rate will not change based on the skill level of the student. I will provide an option for parents to opt out of purchasing the 5-hour or 10-hour plan, and have them pay $16 for each class individually.
Perfect! Naven is a very experienced Chess teacher. He teaches a lot of tactics and analyses the games during the lesson. My son really enjoys learning the chess with Naveen.
Naveen has been a mentor and guide to boys in his troop and has had great feedback from troop leaders and parents. He is a very patient young man and works well with others (young and old). I highly recommend Naveen as a tutor especially for chess which he has been playing from his elementary school in tournaments and clubs
