The teaching methods I most frequently use are visual and/or example based. I tend to make up a problem similar to the content my student is working on so I can walk them through the process of solving the problem without unintentionally giving them the answer to the question at hand. If they are still struggling with the problem, I will devise various methods of solving or thinking about the problem until I find a way to help them understand the concepts at work. I believe that repetition is a better method of learning a new concept than flat-out memorization so I employ many examples in my tutoring sessions.
I have an associates degree in science and I am currently transferring to the University of Texas at Dallas to major in mechanical engineering. I am well versed in algebra and I have assisted many students in their understanding of the subject before. I am a visual learner and a visual teacher who has picked up a few tips and tricks to help with the understanding of algebra as well as other mathematics subjects.
Please be sure to notify me of any cancellations at least 24 hours in advanced. Thank you!
