Artist, chef, and educator Paul R. Glaviano has been active in fine art, the culinary arts, and education for over thirty years. He holds bachelorâs and masterâs degrees in fine art from the San Francisco Art Institute. He has also managed the CafĂ© at the Art Institute and taught students the culinary arts as part of the work-study program at the college. He lives in Alameda with his wife and two sons.
Paul is currently the Executive Catering Chef at Thunder Road Adolescent Treatment Center in Oakland and a professor at The Art Institutes of California-San Francisco. As part of the high school curriculum at Thunder Road, he teaches at-risk youth the culinary arts. Paulâs fine oil paintings are represented by Heather Piazza, owner and curator of Creative Framing and Gallery in Oakland. He shows at the gallery annually. He also teaches in an after-school enrichment program, âCooking Round the World.â Paul also teaches fine art to Kindergarten through 5th grade at Bay Language Academy in Alameda on Bay Farm Island.
Paul has traveled extensively in Europe, the Caribbean, Alaska, and the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico. He also enjoys coaching Alameda Little League baseball, having coached T-ball, Farm-ball, A-, AA-, and AAA-ball.
