Most recently, I worked as a Teaching Assistant for an Elementary French Intensive course of 13 students. I designed creative lesson plans and taught twice weekly discussion sections (conversation classes). I communicated with students about their performance and progress and tracked student attendance, participation, and progress. Further, I guided students in individual, pair, and group exercises, offered cultural insights, and modeled readings aloud. Additionally, I managed the challenge of engaging students of diverse personal and academic backgrounds by encouraging participation through interactive exercises on language skills and cultural comprehension. I meet each student at their current level and adjust my teaching strategies to fit what works best for their individual learning style.
I am a graduate student with extensive tutoring and assistant teaching experience. I have been tutoring formally and informally for the past 9 years. I teach individuals, small groups, and large groups. I am seeking a Master's degree in International Development and plan to work abroad in my career, thus my French knowledge is essential to my work. My experiences in Senegal, France, and Switzerland allow me to bring my real-world perspective into the classroom. I want you to love French like I do, and I will help you get there!
